I’ve extended my script to automate SMC firmware updates on Intel Macs to handle more models – this version covers every model we have in use here.
Here is the script, since WordPress will mangle it.

Great website! Finally, a hard core OS X person, who really knows how to get things done!
Quick question though: We use Filewave instead of Radmind: Does your script go to Apple’s website to retrieve the firmware update? How do you get the firmware update on the machine?

I use radmind to put the firmware updater apps on the local machines; the script just figures out which one would be applicable and runs it if needed. You could do the same with FileWave. To make things easier on me, I put ALL the updaters on ALL Intel Macs.
