As has been reported elsewhere, Michael Bartosh died this past weekend.
I first met Michael a couple of years ago in Cupertino. I was already an admirer of his work – his deep knowledge of OS X, OS X Server, and what it took to get them to play nicely in large heterogeneous environments, and his willingness to share his knowledge with the Mac community. In person, Michael was funny, witty, and charismatic – the type of person people gravitate to at a party.
Our paths crossed only one other time since then, and we spoke only briefly. I figured that I'd have plenty of opportunities to talk to him in the future – that we'd bump into each other for years to come. He will be missed.
